GOD'S DIRECTION TO KMM:
In March of 2007,
we were led of the Lord to accept an invitation to join Kentucky
Mountain Mission as missionaries. We easily came to this decision
because, first of all, our church (Idamay Bible Church) was started by
KMM and we have continued to have a great working relationship with many
of the folks there. Second, we were motivated by the great need to help
find a solution to the growing drug problems that are destroying so many
lives. We have seen the devastating results of drug abuse in our jail
ministry, in our work with the drug court and even in our own church.
We will be working closely with the Lifeline program. This
Bible-based program offers those with life controlling problems, such as
drugs and alcohol abuse, a real and lasting solution in Christ. It is
our desire to see this program reach into the lives of every family
member affected by these awful addictions. Our main focus and first
priority will be to the ministry that the Lord has called us to at
Idamay Bible Church. It is with their blessing that we have taken this
next step in our ministry here. We will continue our jail ministry
where Mark is the volunteer chaplain. Our ministry at Camp Lewis in
Breathitt County will continue as well as our nursing home ministry. We
will be serving in all of these areas, but now as missionaries with KMM.
The minimum monthly support level
set by the KMM Board of Directors for the Coburn family is $3,250.
Although Mark and Cindy have part of this amount, they must raise the
remaining amount before they are considered full-time staff members.
Please pray for them as they seek to raise support.
If you would like to have the Coburns share a presentation in your
church or feel led to share in their support, you may contact the
Mission Office at 606-464-2445 or use the contact link at the bottom of
this page.
