The Hub
The Hub is an extension of our local health department, offering a wide range of services to individuals in our community who need a helping hand. Their mission is simple but powerful:
“Finding you where you are, but not leaving you there.”
Many who come to The Hub are experiencing homelessness, struggling with life-controlling conditions, or are transitioning from incarceration and in need of support and counseling. The Hub meets these needs in practical and meaningful ways.
Services include free hot meals twice each weekday, support groups that provide guidance and direction, housing assistance, showers and laundry services, free clothing, and emergency food bags. They also offer rehabilitation programs for those seeking recovery, with both cost and transportation provided.
Kentucky Mountain Mission is grateful to partner with The Hub through a weekly Bible study with staff each Wednesday morning. In addition, we serve on the Steering Committee, which meets monthly to discuss plans and updates.
Ida May Bible Church also supports The Hub financially, helping to provide meals and care for those being served.
The ministry continues to grow, with three locations now serving Lee County, Owsley County, and Letcher County—and plans for more in the future. If you would like to volunteer or have questions, contact Mark Coburn at the camp office.
